Introduction

Teqtronic LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Atom Fitness mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Password (stored in hashed/encrypted form)
• Display name and username (optional)
• Profile photo (optional)
• Bio (optional)
• Language preference
• Theme preference (light/dark/system)

If you sign in using third-party authentication (Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In), we receive your email address and basic profile information from those services.

1.2 Health and Fitness Data

To provide our fitness tracking services, we collect:

Personal Information:

• Date of birth (for age-based calculations)
• Gender (for personalized calorie and macro calculations)
• Height
• Activity level (sedentary, lightly active, moderately active, very active, extremely active)

Body Metrics:

• Weight and weight history
• Body fat percentage (optional)
• Height measurements
• Unit preferences (metric/imperial)

Weight Plans:

• Weight goals and target dates
• Goal type (weight loss, gain, or maintenance)
• Plan intensity level (aggressive, standard, gentle)
• Starting and target weights
• Adaptive calorie settings
• Plan progress and completion status

Workout Data:

• Workout names, types, and categories
• Exercises performed (sets, reps, weight, duration)
• Workout dates and times
• Rest timer settings
• Workout programs and splits
• Personal records and progress data

Activity Data (with your permission):

• Step count
• Distance walked/run
• Active calories burned
• Workout sessions from Apple Health (iOS)

1.3 Nutrition Data

To track your nutrition, we collect:

• Meal entries with dates and times
• Food names, brands, and serving sizes
• Nutritional information (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fats, fiber, sugars, sodium, cholesterol, vitamins, minerals)
• Water intake
• Recipes you create
• Eating patterns and meal frequency

1.4 Device Information

We automatically collect certain device information:

• Device type and operating system
• Push notification tokens (for sending notifications)
• App version

1.5 Camera and Photo Data

With your permission, we access your device camera to:

• Scan food barcodes for nutrition lookup
• Scan nutrition labels for text recognition
• Take photos of food for AI-powered nutrition analysis
• Set your profile picture
• Capture progress photos to track your fitness journey

Photos used for food analysis are processed to identify foods and estimate nutritional content. These images are transmitted securely to our AI service provider for analysis.

1.6 Progress Photos

You can optionally upload body transformation progress photos to track your fitness journey over time. These photos are:

• Stored securely in our encrypted cloud storage
• Associated with the date taken and optional notes
• Optionally linked to weight measurements recorded on the same date
• Only visible to you unless you explicitly choose to share them

You can delete your progress photos at any time through the App.

1.7 Premium and Subscription Data

If you use premium features, we track:

• Premium subscription status
• Trial start date and duration
• Feature access permissions

Subscriptions are processed by RevenueCat on top of Apple's App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user id (your account id) and the purchase receipt so it can tell us whether your subscription is active. We never see or store your payment card. Apple or Google handles the payment itself.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide Core Services: Track your workouts, nutrition, weight, and fitness progress
• Personalize Your Experience: Remember your preferences, suggest exercises, and analyze eating patterns
• Calculate Nutrition: Look up food nutrition data and calculate daily totals
• Sync Health Data: Integrate with Apple Health on iOS (with your permission)
• Enable Social Features: Allow you to share workouts, recipes, and progress with other users
• Send Notifications: Remind you about workouts, goals, and app updates (with your permission)
• Improve Our Services: Analyze usage patterns to enhance app functionality
• Provide Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries and resolve issues

3. Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following third-party services to provide our functionality:

Authentication. You can create an account with an email address and password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google Sign-In. When you use Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email address, and Apple gives us a private relay address instead. If you delete your account we revoke the Sign in with Apple tokens that were issued to us at the same time as we delete your data.

3.1 FatSecret Platform API

We use FatSecret to provide food and nutrition data. When you search for foods or scan barcodes:

• Your search queries and barcode numbers are sent to FatSecret
• FatSecret returns nutritional information
• We cache this data temporarily (24 hours) to improve performance

3.2 Open Food Facts

As a supplementary food database, we query Open Food Facts for barcode lookups:

• Barcode numbers are sent to their API
• Product and nutrition data is returned

3.3 USDA FoodData Central

We use the USDA FoodData Central database for additional nutrition information:

• Food search queries are sent to the USDA API
• Detailed nutritional data is returned for foods in their database

3.4 Supabase (Database Provider)

Your data is stored securely on Supabase's cloud infrastructure:

• All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data
• Supabase is SOC 2 Type II compliant

3.5 Apple Health (iOS)

With your permission, we read and write data to Apple Health:

• Read: Steps, distance, active calories, weight, workouts
• Write: Weight entries, workout sessions

This data stays on your device and in Apple's ecosystem. We do not have access to your complete Apple Health history.

3.6 Apple Music (iOS)

If you connect Apple Music to play music during workouts:

• We request access to your music library to show and start your playlists
• Playback happens through Apple's frameworks on your device
• We do not receive or store your listening history

Android note: AtomFitness does not sync with a health platform on Android at this time. Steps, heart rate and calories on Android come from a paired Wear OS watch or from workouts you log in the app.

3.7 Spotify

If you connect Spotify to attach workout playlists:

• We request read-only access to your playlists
• We store playlist IDs and names to display in the app
• We do not access your listening history or personal Spotify data

3.8 AI Features (Anthropic Claude)

We use Anthropic's Claude AI for several features:

Food Photo Analysis:

• Your food photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI via our secure server
• The AI analyzes the image to identify foods and estimate portions
• Images are processed in real-time and are not stored by the AI service
• We keep the list of foods the AI identified and their estimates, not the photo. That record is what shows you the scan again if you retake the same picture, and what lets us measure how accurate these estimates are
• A photo you take while offline is kept on your own device until you choose to analyse it, and is deleted after seven days if you do not

AI Workout Plan Generation:

• When you request an AI-generated workout plan, your fitness goals and preferences are sent to Claude
• The AI creates personalized workout splits based on your input
• No personal health data is retained by the AI service after processing

Exercise Recommendations:

• Based on your workout history and goals, the AI may suggest exercises
• These recommendations are generated using anonymized patterns

3.9 Google Maps (Location Services)

With your permission, we use Google Maps for location-based features:

• Mapping outdoor workouts (running, cycling, walking)
• Tracking distance and route during cardio exercises
• Location data is only collected during active workout sessions when you enable this feature

We use Google's ML Kit for on-device text recognition:

• Scanning nutrition labels from food packaging
• Text recognition is processed locally on your device
• No images or text data is sent to external servers for this feature

We use Expo's notification service to send push notifications:

• Your device's push token is stored to deliver notifications
• Notification content is transmitted through Expo's servers

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where Your Data Is Stored

• Cloud Database: Your account and fitness data is stored on Supabase's secure cloud servers
• Device Storage: Some data is cached locally on your device for offline access and performance
• Health Apps: Data synced with Apple Health is stored according to Apple's policies

4.2 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (we never store plain-text passwords)
• Database access is protected by row-level security policies
• OAuth tokens for third-party services are stored securely on your device
• Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

4.3 Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you via email within 72 hours of discovering the breach, as required by applicable law.

4.4 Widgets and Live Activities

The App offers home screen widgets and Live Activities (iOS) to display your fitness data at a glance:

Home Screen Widgets (iOS and Android):

• Daily water intake progress
• Nutrition summaries (calories, macros)
• Workout information
• Weekly check-in reminders

Live Activities (iOS): During active workouts, Live Activities display:

• Current exercise name and set number
• Target weight and reps
• Rest timer countdown
• Workout progress

This widget data is stored locally on your device and is managed by the operating system. Widget data is derived from your app data and does not involve additional data collection.

4.5 Local Data Caching

To improve performance and enable offline access, we cache certain data locally on your device:

• Recent nutrition searches (expires after 24 hours)
• User profile data (refreshed regularly)
• Active workout state (during workouts)
• Health app authorization status

This cached data remains on your device and is cleared when you log out or uninstall the App.

5. Data Sharing

5.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5.2 When We Share Data

We may share your information only in these circumstances:

• With Your Consent: When you explicitly choose to share content (workouts, recipes, meals) with other users
• Service Providers: With third-party services described in Section 3 that help us operate the App
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government request
• Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Teqtronic LLC, our users, or others
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you would be notified)

5.3 Social Sharing Features

The App includes optional social features that allow you to connect with other users:

Public Profile: If you enable social features, you may create a public profile including:

• Display name and username
• Profile photo
• Bio
• Fitness goals (optional)

Sharing Content: You can share content with other users:

• Public Shares: Visible to anyone with the link
• Private Shares: Visible only to specific users you choose
• Shareable content includes workouts, recipes, meal plans, and optionally weight progress
• Shared content includes the content details but not your personal health data unless you explicitly choose to include it

Social Connections:

• You can follow other users and be followed
• Follower and following counts are visible on your profile
• You can block or unfollow users at any time

Interactions: We track interactions with shared content:

• View counts on your shared content
• Saves and likes from other users
• Comments and ratings (if enabled)

Notifications: Social activity generates notifications stored in our database:

• New followers
• Interactions with your shared content
• Content shared with you

You can disable social features entirely in your account settings, which will hide your profile from other users.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access Your Data

You can view all your data within the App at any time, including:

• Your profile information
• Workout history
• Nutrition logs
• Weight history

6.2 Update Your Data

You can edit or correct your information through the App's settings and editing features.

6.3 Delete Your Data

You have the right to delete your account and all associated data:

• Go to Settings > Account Settings > Delete Account
• This will permanently delete all your data from our servers
• Data synced to Apple Health will remain in that service

6.4 Export Your Data

6.5 Opt-Out Options

• Push Notifications: Disable in your device settings or within the App
• Health App Sync: Revoke permissions in your device's Health app settings
• Third-Party Connections: Disconnect Spotify or other services in App settings

6.6 Rights for European Users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Right to Restrict Processing: Request limitation of how we use your data
• Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@atomfitness.com, and we will delete such information.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country.

When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as:

• Service providers with appropriate certifications (e.g., SOC 2)

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Specifically:

• Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
• Fitness and Nutrition Data: Retained until you delete your account
• Cached Nutrition Data: Automatically deleted after 24 hours
• Push Notification Queue: Cleared after 7 days

After account deletion, your data is permanently removed from our active databases. Backups may retain data for up to 30 days before being overwritten.
